PEI Awards 2019 – secondaries winners announced!

Presenting the winners of the 17 secondaries categories in sister publication Private Equity International's 2019 Awards.

AlpInvest Partners, Campbell Lutyens, Kirkland & Ellis and HarbourVest Partners were among firms who won across multiple secondaries categories in sister publication Private Equity International‘s PEI Awards 2019.

This is the first year that secondaries categories for the reader-voted awards, announced today, were separated from the main awards. They included two new global categories: Preferred Equity Deal of the Year and Direct Secondaries Deal of the Year. LP deals and GP-led deals were also recognised separately across the three regions.

AlpInvest picked up two awards, including for the €2 billion single-asset restructuring of PAI Partners’ Europe V fund, also backed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, HarbourVest and Pantheon.

Campbell Lutyens won in four categories, including for advising on Canadian insurance giant Manulife’s $1.7 billion sale of a portfolio of private equity stakes from its balance sheet.

Kirkland & Ellis, for the fourth year in a row, was voted secondaries law firm of the year across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific, while HarbourVest clinched two awards including Firm of the Year in the Americas.
