Investec hires bankers to bolster financing and hedging group

These hires bring the fund solutions team to 26 as it endeavours to expand its presence in NAV lending and secondary financing.

Investec has made additions to its fund solutions team as it continues to build its presence in NAV lending, secondary financing and fund hedging.

According to a statement, Olivia Blundell joins from Rabobank, with experience in leverage and structured finance, and Nicola Rodrigues joins from Eight Advisory, where she advised PE clients on transactional due diligence.

Two other professionals – Marilia Shewchenko and Andriana Goudis – have also joined from Rochford Group and Validus Risk, respectively, to focus on risk management.

The hires bring the UK fund solutions team to 26 professionals, including Hannah Lynskey and Victor Ovenshei who joined the team earlier in 2021 to focus on deal execution.

Investec has recently raised more than €3.3 billion from institutional investors, according to the statement.

In May, BC Partners hired the former head of North America fund financing at Investec, Tom Glover, to help develop a GP- and net asset value-based lending strategy.

Concentrated NAV lending has enjoyed a coming of age in the covid-19 era as managers have faced liquidity needs and sought to understand funding options amid the uncertainty, as affiliate title Private Equity International examined in February.
