17Capital hires CVC director

The appointment follows that of Daniel Lee as head of fundraising and investor relations for North America in April.

17Capital has appointed a director from CVC Credit Partners to its investor relations team.

Martin Munte has started at the London headquarters of the preferred equity specialist, according to a statement. His title is investor relations director. At CVC he served as a director responsible for fundraising across Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Nordics.

Munte joined CVC in January last year after eight years with BlueBay Asset Management, according to his LinkedIn profile.

His experience and contacts will “prove a valuable asset as we continue to grow our business and see an ever-increasing appetite for financing across the private equity industry”, said 17Capital managing partner Pierre-Antoine de Selancy in the statement.

In April, 17Capital hired Daniel Lee as head of fundraising and investor relations for North America. He joined from private equity firm Aethon Energy. The following July it hired another CVC professional, Anthony McKay, as a finance director in its London office, Secondaries Investor reported.

Munte’s appointment brings the firm’s number of professionals to 52 across Europe and North America.

17Capital has been in market since the first half of last year targeting €1.8 billion for its fifth fund, a 50 percent increase on the amount raised for its 2017-vintage predecessor,  Secondaries Investor reported. 17Capital Fund 5 had raised at least €1.2 billion as of October.
