Vision expands partnership

Secondaries specialist Vision Capital has promoted Samer Cortas as it continues to invest Fund VII.

Vision Capital, the London-headquartered secondaries investment manager, has promoted Samer Cortas to partner.

He joins four other existing partners at the firm: Daryl Cohen, Dave Lamb, Andrew Rich and Matt Shafer.

Cortas is responsible for global financing at Vision, which he joined in October 2010, having previously spent more than 12 years in leveraged finance.

Vision noted in a statement that Cortas has led a number of refinancings and recapitalisations across its portfolio of companies in the last three years, including bond transactions for BrightHouse and Nordax Finans and bank and asset backed financings for Bormioli, Pirtek Europe, Pork Farms and Fletchers Bakeries.

Cortas said: “I am delighted to join the partnership at Vision Capital. We already have an attractive deal pipeline for the year ahead and we will continue to take advantage of the improved credit environment to finance new opportunities and re-evaluate the capital structures in our existing portfolio companies.”

Vision Capital Partners VII, a 2009-vintage fund, raised €676.2 million in commitments, and is currently investing, according to PEI Research & Analytics.
