Triago makes senior London hire

Charles Lemon, who was fundraising head at Agilitas Private Equity, will be responsible for primary fund placement and secondaries advising.

Triago, a placement agent and secondaries advisory firm, has brought its staff size up to 34 with the appointment of a new partner.

London-based Charles Lemon will be responsible for originating and executing fundraising mandates and offering primary and secondaries advisory services to European general partners, according to a statement from the firm.

Lemon joins from Agilitas Private Equity, a spin-out of Stirling Square Capital Partners, where he spent seven years as a partner. He led fundraising on the firm’s 2013- and 2015-vintage private equity funds and co-investment vehicles, the statement noted. Prior to that, he was with the fund placement team at asset manager Matrix Private Capital Group.

Paris-headquartered Triago has made seven hires this year across its New York, Paris and London offices, bringing its total number of staff to 34. Founded in 1992, the firm has completed more than 160 fundraises, advised on the transfer of more than 3,000 limited partnership stakes and advised on 50 complex secondaries processes.

In October last year, it advised Caisse des Dépôts spin-out Qualium Investissement on a GP-led process to help it raise its first vehicle as an independent firm, as Secondaries Investor reported. Secondaries buyers acquired stakes in Caisse’s 2011-vintage buyout fund and made a stapled commitment to Qualium Fund II, which raised €350 million.
