The law firm has appointed Duncan McDonald in London who will focus on advising sponsors and deals, including secondaries transactions.

Taylor Wessing has hired a private equity partner from law firm Olswang to focus on advising sponsors and deals, including secondaries transactions.

The law firm hired Duncan McDonald on its private equity team, based in London, according to a statement. McDonald, who worked for Olswang for more than eight years, will advise sponsors, management teams and companies on management buyouts and buy-ins, portfolio company transactions, exits and growth capital deals.

“When taken together with our separate corporate team focusing on venture and growth capital transactions, we are proud to offer one of the deepest benches in the City for the capital investment community across the whole value range,” James Goold, head of private equity at Taylor Wessing, said.

McDonald has advised firms including Better Capital, Chamonix Private Equity, NBGI Private Equity, OPTrust Private Markets Group, Sony and Hexagon. He also specialises in domestic and cross-border M&A and joint ventures.

Taylor Wessing now has 20 private equity lawyers in its London office.
