Strategic Partners hires VP amid real estate push – exclusive

The Blackstone unit will send a newly appointed vice-president to London and is planning to make further additions, Secondaries Investor has learned.

Strategic Partners has hired a credit investment professional to spearhead its international real estate secondaries operations from London, Secondaries Investor has learned.

The Blackstone unit has hired Eric Tam as a vice-president, according to a source familiar with the matter. Tam joined in August from H/2 Capital Partners, a Stamford-based debt manager, where he spent five years focusing on real estate investing, according to his Linkedin.

Tam also worked on real estate earlier in his career at Morgan Stanley as an associate.

It is also understood Strategic Partners is planning to make additions to its real estate secondaries team.

Strategic Partners is investing its first dedicated real estate fund raised as part of Blackstone, Strategic Partners Real Estate Fund VI, which held its final close on its $1.3 billion hard-cap last Wednesday. The fund will focus on acquiring portfolios of high-quality real estate stakes and co-investments.

Strategic Partners declined to comment.
