Sixpoint promotes three and hires west coast VP

The investment bank's promotions include a New York-based VP who focuses on project management and due diligence in primary and secondaries markets.

Sixpoint Partners has promoted three professionals in its New York office including one who focuses on project management and due diligence in primary and secondaries markets.

The advisory firm and placement agent promoted Ben Newman to vice-president. Newman joined Sixpoint in February 2014 as an associate from PwC where he was a transaction services associate, according to his LinkedIn profile.

His promotion was one of three at the firm, with two other professionals promoted to director and vice-president level who focus on overseeing limited partner relationships, and sourcing LP capital and business opportunities.

Sixpoint has also hired a vice-president in its San Francisco office to oversee limited partnerships on the west coast, sister title Private Equity International has learned. Michael Leonardo joins from fund of hedge funds Ironwood Capital Management, where he was an associate vice president in charge of the firm’s client relationships. Earlier in his career, Leonardo advised institutional clients in BlackRock’s US wealth advisory and global client group.

Leonardo is one of two vice-presidents at Sixpoint and starts his new role immediately.

Sixpoint has four directors and employs 20 professionals globally across the firm’s four domestic and international offices.
