At least eight private equity professionals with secondaries expertise have made it into sister publication Private Equity International‘s list of the 40 individuals under the age of 40 set to shape the future of the industry.
The Future 40 Leaders of Private Equity List was announced on Wednesday.

Among those included are Ricardo Lombardi, who led ICG’s strategic equity team in backing the spin-out of Standard Chartered Private Equity, now known as Affirma Capital. In the last 18 months, he has led six transactions on three continents with a total value of $1.5 billion.

He is joined by Louis Choy, the CPP Investment Board principal who topped the Young Guns of Secondaries list in 2017. Described by one market participant as “fantastic, creative and street-smart beyond his years”, he has been behind several first-in-kind deal structures, including the pension giant’s push into preferred equity.
Secondaries lawyers are well represented on the list with Ted Craig, who recently joined Dentons, Kirkland & Ellis’s European secondaries head Ted Cardos and Debevoise & Plimpton partner John Rife making appearances.
Others with a background in secondaries include Camille Higonnet of Proskauer, Constantinos Economou of Capital Dynamics and Pierre Abrial of Access Capital Partners.
