Secondaries capital raised increases 35% in 2014

Q2 closed the most funds this year and raised almost half of the total capital.

Capital raised for secondaries increased 35 percent to a record high in 2014, PEI’s Research and Analytics division revealed.

This year 31 funds closed on a total of $28.9 billion, compared to 27 funds which raised $21.4 billion in 2013. The bulk of capital raised this year closed in the second quarter, when 11 funds raised $13.8 billion.
