Greg Walters, a principal at Pomona Capital, has announced that he will be leaving the firm to pursue other opportunities, according to an email seen by affiliate title Private Equity International.

Walters has been with the firm for just over five years, joining in 2008 after serving as managing director of VCFA Group in New York. At Pomona, he focused on secondaries investment analysis and deal sourcing. In the email, Walters wrote that he is considering a number of opportunities both on the investor side and the operational side.

Pomona closed its eighth fund in April on its $1.75 billion hard-cap, beating a $1.3 billion target for the fund.

Fund VIII has bought four LP interests for over $130m including Cinven Fund III & IV and Clayton Dubilier & Rice Fund VII & VIII from New Mexico State Investment Council (NMSIC), Secondaries Investor previously reported.

Pomona Capital’s eighth fund has deployed around $437.5 million, roughly 25 percent of its total capital, according to a source close to the fund.

The firm’s secondaries business manages $4.4 billion in committed capital across its eight funds.

Pomona was founded in 1994 and manages about $6.9 billion across its secondaries, fund of funds and co-investment vehicles.

The firm was unavailable for comment at press time.
