PJT makes pair of senior promotions

The secondary advisory promotions include former Harvard Crimson and Dallas Cowboys American football player Collin Zych.

PJT Partners has promoted two longtime secondaries professionals, capping off a busy year of people moves.

The New York-based advisory firm has promoted Collin Zych to managing director and Danny Schuster to principal this month, according to a source familiar with the matter. Zych focuses on LP deals and Schuster on GP-led deals, Secondaries Investor understands.

Zych’s LinkedIn profile has been updated to reflect the change.

Before joining PJT last February, Zych spent nearly a decade at the Dallas and London offices of Greenhill & Co, rising to the level of principal. He played safety for the Harvard Crimson American football team and had a stint with the Dallas Cowboys practice squad before trading his cleats for spreadsheets.

Schuster joined in September from the Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse. He spent more than nine years at the Swiss investment bank across multiple roles.

PJT made several US appointments during 2021. In the spring, the firm hired managing directors Chris Areson and Gordon Appell to drive its GP-led advisory efforts. They joined from Apollo Global Management and KKR, respectively.

In June, managing director Charles Carroll departed for the newly formed secondaries advisory business at Morgan Stanley.

PJT advised on $21 billion of transactions across the GP-led solutions, LP portfolio transactions and debt/structured solutions last year, Secondaries Investor understands.
