Partners Group loses secondaries professional

Senior vice president Jared Barlow left Partners recently and is working on secondaries as an independent contractor.

Jared Barlow, a senior vice president with Partners Group, recently left the firm, according to an industry source and Barlow’s LinkedIn page. Also, a person who answered the phone at Partners’ New York office Wednesday said Barlow was no longer with the firm.

Barlow worked at Partners from May 2006 until June, at which point he became an independent contractor “seeking and creating entrepreneurial opportunities in … private equity and venture capital secondary arena, including secondary direct transactions … and LP secondaries”, according to his LinkedIn page.

It’s not clear if Partners Group has moved someone into Barlow’s former role. The firm did not return requests for comment Wednesday.

The industry source characterised Barlow as a senior deal professional at Partners Group focusing on secondaries in the US, though that could not be confirmed. Barlow also did not return a request for comment.

Barlow spent two years at Silicon Valley Bank prior to joining Partners.

Partners Group has more than €25 billion in investment programmes under management in private equity, private debt, private real estate and infrastructure. Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, the firm earlier this year revealed it had raised $800 million for its Partners Group Global Real Estate 2011 fund.
