Pantheon hires UBS secondaries exec – exclusive

The addition of Alec Brown means the global fund of funds' US investment team has at least 24 members.

Pantheon has hired a former UBS professional for its secondaries team in New York, Secondaries Investor has learned.

Alec Brown joined the fund of funds’ global secondaries team as a vice-president in March and will focus on investments, a spokeswoman confirmed. Brown was previously a director in UBS’s secondaries advisory team in the Private Funds Group where he spent almost two years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Brown has worked for Seven Mile Capital Partners, which spun out of Citigroup in 2011, and had worked at Citi before then, focusing on the management and disposition of legacy private equity limited partnerships, co-investments and direct investments.

Pantheon now has at least 24 professionals in its US-based investment team, according to its website.

Recently, Nik Morandi, an almost decade-long Pantheon veteran, left the firm’s London secondaries team and is expected to head Canada Pension Plan Investment Board’s secondaries and co-investment unit focusing on European investments.
