Northleaf hires Kristin Shearer from Deloitte

Shearer, who started in May, will focus particularly on the portfolio management, evaluation and monitoring of Northleaf Capital Partners’ private equity investments.

Kristin Shearer joined Northleaf Capital Partners in May as an associate, working on all aspect of the firm’s private markets investment activities with a focus on the portfolio management, evaluation and monitoring of private equity investments, according to the firm’s website.

She came from Deloitte, where she was most recently a manager focusing on mergers and acquisitions transaction services, providing M&A quantitative and qualitative diligence analysis, including for several private equity transactions.

Toronto-based Northleaf uses its secondaries platform to acquire smaller and more mature fund stakes and portfolio company interests, according to its website. Its latest secondaries fund closed on $255 million in May 2014.

Recent secondaries transactions completed by Northleaf include the purchase of stakes in three Charterhouse Capital Partners funds from Paul Capital.
