Montana Capital appoints IR veteran to advisory board

The niche secondaries firm has hired a former Montagu Private Equity IR head to join its eight-member board.

Swiss investment firm Montana Capital Partners has hired a three-decade private equity veteran and former British Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVCA) chairman on its advisory board.

Vince O’Brien, who joined the board in April, spent over 20 years as a partner with London-headquartered Montagu Private Equity, where he led its fundraising and investor relations.

O’Brien, a qualified chartered accountant, is chairman of Quest Placement Services, chairman of the investment committee of Nesta Impact Investing and non-executive director of Impax Asset Management Group. He was chairman of the BVCA in 2005.

Montana, which focuses on customised secondaries investment programs and asset management services, now has eight members on its advisory board.

The firm, which was founded in 2011 by two former Capital Dynamics executives Marco Wulff and Christian Diller, held a final close on €400 million for its latest secondaries vehicle in September after 10 weeks of fundraising.
