A managing director from Lazard’s private capital advisory group is set to join UBS as the game of musical chairs in the secondaries advisory business continues apace.

New York-based executive Abhi Mitra will join the Swiss investment bank’s private funds unit in the fall to focus on GP leds, according to three sources familiar with the matter. His title will be as head of GP capital advisory Americas, according to an internal UBS memo seen by Secondaries Investor.

Mitra spent almost 11 years at Lazard, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that he worked at Morgan Stanley Investment Management in alternative investments, the memo notes.

He will work together with Sandro Galfetti and Dave Andrias as part UBS’s global secondaries and fund financing business run by Phil Tsai.

Mitra’s hire is the latest in several high-profile moves in the secondaries advisory world. On Wednesday, Secondaries Investor and affiliate title Buyouts reported that Mike Custar, a veteran of the advisory business, was leaving placement agent M2O to join William Blair, where he will focus on GP-leds.

On Tuesday, Campbell Lutyens said it had hired Claire Woolston Commons as a managing director in its New York office to focus on the LP portfolio side of its business.

A spokesperson for Lazard did not comment on Mitra’s move.
