Investec expands GP advisory with Asante, Credit Suisse, HarbourVest hires

The bank has tapped three advisory professionals to join its team under former Eaton Partners exec Stefano Manna.

Investec has made a further move to build up its GP advisory team after launching the unit in November.

The London-headquartered bank has added three secondaries professionals to its GP advisory team, including Oliver Altendorf from Asante Capital Group, Christoph Schwarz from HarbourVest Partners and Emilia Korobowicz from Credit Suisse, according to a statement shared with Secondaries Investor.

Prior to Investec, Altendorf was a vice-president at Asante’s secondaries team, where he specialised in executing and advising on GP-led transactions. Schwarz spent over two years at HarbourVest where he built up experience in sponsor-led deals. Korobowicz was an investment banking analyst at Credit Suisse and specialised in a variety of GP-led transactions, including continuation vehicles, preferred equity and strip sales, according to the statement.

Investec’s latest recruitment follows the establishment of its GP advisory team and the appointment of Stefano Manna as head of GP advisory in November. Manna left placement agent and advisory firm Eaton Partners last year, Secondaries Investor reported in September. His experience also includes roles at Cebile Capital, Greenhill and Advanced Capital, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“The private equity industry is going through a transformational moment – and GPs are having to think more and more creatively to get deals done,” Manna said in the statement.

Investec’s GP advisory team aims to provide services to mid-market financial sponsors in Europe, focusing on GP-leds, according to the statement. It advises on single- and multi-asset continuation vehicles and liquidity options, including preferred equity, GP commitment financing and stake sales for management companies.

In a previous statement, Manna said he was seeing “a period of rapid market growth in sponsor-led secondary transactions” – a trend that underscores the necessity for establishing a dedicated GP advisory team at the bank.
