HarbourVest hires global head of IR

James Kase joins the firm to oversee its global sales, client relations and marketing communications after serving as global head of investor relations at hedge fund manager Capula.

HarbourVest Partners has hired James Kase to fill the newly created role of global head of investor relations, to oversee all aspects of the firm’s global sales, client relations and marketing communications efforts, the firm said.

Kase most recently served as managing director and global head of investor relations at London-based hedge fund manager Capula Investment Management, which he joined in 2013.

He had also been executive vice-president, global head of sales and marketing at State Street Global Advisors, executive director at ING Investment Management, managing director at Merrill Lynch and managing director at Lehman Brothers, his LinkedIn profile said.

“As our business continues to grow and evolve, it is imperative that our capital raising, investor relations, branding and market positioning efforts globally keep pace,” HarbourVest managing director Brett Gordon said in a statement. “Jamie’s diverse skill set and background will serve our stakeholders well as we strive to meet this important objective.”

The firm manages $37 billion in assets and has offices in Asia, Europe and the Americas, including two new ones in Tel Aviv and Seoul.
