Former Coller partner joins Irving’s IR team

Ashley Johansen left Coller to join Irving Place as an external consultant.

Ashley Johansen, a former partner at Coller Capital, joined Irving Place Capital as an external consultant in March, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The source said she is not a full-time employee but rather an external hire, as are all other senior advisors of the firm.

Johansen was previously the head of capital raising and investor relations at Coller, where she worked from September 2013 to February 2016, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She is now Irving Place’s senior advisor focusing on marketing, strategy and investor communications, the firm’s website said.

Earlier in her career, she was a principal of investor solutions at AlpInvest Partners for less than a year and senior marketing manager at Coller between 2005 and 2012, her LinkedIn said. She had also been a director of marketing at CIBC World Markets and a marketing manager at Jupiter.

The Irving Place website lists Johansen as the only professional in the investor relations team at the firm.

Irving has ramped up its investments team in recent months. In September, the firm appointed former Emerson Electric executive Walter Galvin as senior advisor in the industrial and packaging industries, as reported by Private Equity International. In the previous month, it hired Carlos Cardoso as senior advisor in the industrial and distribution sectors, as reported by PEI.
