Debevoise & Plimpton has promoted Sally Gibson from international counsel to partner, according to a statement.
Gibson is based in the firm’s London office and is a member of the investment management group. She advises on fund sponsors on buyout, real estate, mezzanine and secondaries funds. She has also advised on the restructuring of English investment managers and the acquisition of fund management groups, according to the statement.


Gibson recently advised Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management’s private equity group on its DB Secondary Opportunities Fund III, which closed on $1.65 billion last October. The fund was oversubscribed and attracted more than 30 institutional investors and 300 private client investors.
Debevoise’s firm-wide practice also actively advises on secondaries transactions. The firm advised on $2.83 billion-worth of secondaries deals, across 23 transactions in 2014, Secondaries Investor exclusively revealed.
