Debevoise promotes four in private funds

The promotions at the law firm include at least two who focus on secondaries, including HarbourVest Partners' Dover Street IX fundraise.

Debevoise has promoted four private fund lawyers to counsel-level positions, including two who work on secondaries-related matters including raising HarbourVest Partners‘ Dover Street IX fund.

Among them are Jason Auerbach, whose has worked with HarbourVest on four of the Boston-headquartered investment firm’s fundraises as well as its acquisition of Absolute Private Equity, and Michael Sabin, who advises on fund restructurings.

The US law firm also promoted Serhat Krause, who advises on private equity real estate, and Gregory Larkin who focuses on advising private funds on regulatory and compliance matters.

Auerbach, Sabin and Krause are New York-based, with Larkin in Washington DC.

The promotions follow the appointment of Simon Witney, former King & Wood Mallesons lawyer, who will join Debevoise’s London private funds practice in mid-January as a consultant.
