Commonfund has hired former Capital Dynamics senior vice-president Jack Foster as a managing director and private equity specialist, according to a statement.
In the newly-created position Foster will focus on building custom private equity portfolios of direct funds, secondaries, co-investment funds and fund of funds for institutional investors in the Eastern US and Canada.
“We expect his broad private capital experience will help to expand our investor relationships in private equity and provide more institutions with access to our unique programmes and capabilities,” said Keith Luke, president of Commonfund Securities, the broker dealer of Commonfund.
Foster joins the firm from Capital Dynamics where he was a senior vice-president helping clients build private equity programmes through funds and separate accounts. He also advised clients on secondaries investment opportunities, clean energy infrastructure and mid-market buyouts.
It is unclear if his position will be replaced at Capital Dynamics and the firm was unavailable to comment by press time.
Previously Foster was a director of private capital at CastleOak Securities, a strategic partnership of Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. He has held other positions at Blaylock & Company and JPMorgan Securities.
