A spokesperson from Carlyle confirmed Budhraja’s departure.

Budhraja joined Carlyle’s solutions group in 2013. The group includes fund of funds manager AlpInvest Partners, hedge fund manager Diversified Global Asset Management and Metropolitan Real Estate Equity Management. Budhraja managed the quantitative analytics group, according to his LinkedIn profile. He developed asset allocation models to advise clients on portfolio construction of traditional and alternative investments, including hedge funds, private equity and real estate.

Previously Budhraja was the founder and chief investment officer of VSB Investment Management, which managed friends and family capital and focused on trading commodities, currencies, equities and fixed income. He has also worked as an executive director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and as a director at Citigroup Alternative Investments, LinkedIn disclosed.

His future plans are unknown.

The news of Budhraja’s departure comes days after Secondaries Investor reported Neil Collins’ resignation from Carlyle’s solutions group. Collins was head of sales and marketing and it is understood he left to pursue a hedge fund opportunity in Connecticut. Carlyle has begun a search for Collins’ replacement.
