Campbell Lutyens hires ex-BC Partners fundraising veteran

Charlie Bott joins the firm's global advisory board, having retired from the UK buyout manager in 2018.

Campbell Lutyens has added a private markets fundraising veteran to its global advisory board.

Charlie Bott has joined the London-headquartered placement agent and advisory firm, according to a statement.

Bott retired as managing partner and head of investor relations at BC Partners two years ago after 10 years at the London-headquartered buyout shop, sister title Private Equity International reported. Prior to that he spent more than 20 years at Goldman Sachs, helping establish its European financial sponsors group.

“Having known Charlie for many years, we are delighted to welcome him to Campbell Lutyens in a formal capacity,” Gordon Bajnai, partner and chairman of the global advisory board, said in the statement. “His experience and network will help support the continued growth of our business globally and we look forward to working with him.”

Campbell Lutyens worked on more than $27 billion of transactions last year across its placement and secondaries advisory businesses.

Other members of its advisory board include former Bain & Co. partner Suvir Varma, former US State Department chief economist Heidi Crebo-Rediker and former GIC president Teh Kok Peng, Secondaries Investor has variously reported.

The firm has a team of more than 160 operating from offices in London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Chicago, Los Angeles and Charlotte, North Carolina.
