Wyley Scherr, a principal in the fund investments group at AlpInvest, has decided to leave the firm, a source with knowledge of the situation told Secondaries Investor.Â
A spokesperson from AlpInvest’s parent, The Carlyle Group, confirmed the departure, but did not provide further details.

However, the source said Scherr was pursuing another opportunity closer to his home in Connecticut. His last day at AlpInvest is Friday.
Scherr joined AlpInvest in 2012 as a vice-president focused on US investments. Last month he was promoted to principal, along with eight of his colleagues. He previously worked as an investment associate at Performance Equity Management and a senior analyst at Commonfund.
