AlpInvest hires UBS energy exec

Noah Keys has joined the firm to focus on secondaries and co-investments in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

The Carlyle Group’s fund of funds arm AlpInvest has hired Noah Keys as a principal, according to a spokesperson from the firm.

Keys joined the firm’s New York office on 30 March. He focuses on secondaries and co-investments across the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

Previously he was an executive director in UBS’ global energy group, responsible for M&A and capital markets activities in the oil and gas sector. He has also worked in the natural resources groups at Lehman Brothers and Barclays.

Keys’ appointment comes months after AlpInvest hired Justine Gordon as a managing director to focus on secondaries and co-investments in energy and infrastructure. Gordon joined the firm’s New York office last September from Guggenheim Infrastructure, where she was a managing director and head of acquisitions.

AlpInvest is part of Carlyle’s solutions group, which also includes Metropolitan Real Estate Equity Management and hedge fund manager Diversified Global Asset Management. The solutions group lost two of its managing directors this month. Neil Collins left his role as head of sales and marketing and Vineet Budhraja stepped down from his post as manager of the quantitative analytics part of the group.
