Northleaf Capital Partners has made a series of hires and promotions across its investment and investor relations teams including promoting a private equity professional who works on secondaries deals.

Toronto-based Matt Sparks, who has sourced, led and completed several complex secondaries transactions, was promoted to director, according to a statement. Sparks joined Northleaf in 2010 from Monitor Group where he was a consultant, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The firm’s three hires in June in its Toronto headquarters include Laura Fetter, who joined as a senior associate and will focus on origination, evaluation and monitoring of private equity investments. Fetter previously worked at Hermes GPE in London where she sourced and evaluated private equity fund investment and co-investment opportunities.

Northleaf also hired Zaman Khan as an associate on its investor relations team and Alex Ince as an associate on its corporate development team.

The firm also made one promotion in its infrastructure team and another who focuses on corporate development.

In February Northleaf said in its 2016 Year in Review it was returning to market to raise capital for a secondaries fund and a primary fund after making 30 investments across its private equity platform in 2016.

Northleaf now has more than 90 professionals across its Toronto, London, Chicago and Menlo Park offices and has more than $9 billion of commitments under management, according to the statement.
