The firm has picked Valentina Abbott to help it gather more capital for its sustainable investment strategies.

Stafford Capital Partners has hired Valentina Abbott as global head of client solutions, according to a statement.

Abbott joins from IFM Investors, where she was head of the firm’s global relationship group. She will be charged with attracting more investment to the firm’s sustainability platforms, per the statement.

“We are delighted to have Valentina on board as we support institutions towards their net-zero goals, and we continue to enhance and scale the client experience globally,” said chief executive Angus Whiteley.

Stafford invests across infrastructure, timberland and agriculture, and sustainable private equity through secondaries, primaries and co-investments.

The London-headquartered firm is currently raising two secondaries vehicles. Stafford Infrastructure Secondaries Fund V, which launched in January, is targeting €1.3 billion, according to Secondaries Investor data. Stafford Infrastructure Secondaries Fund IV closed below its €750 million target on €731 million in August.

It is also raising Stafford International Timberland Fund X, which launched in April. Its predecessor vehicle that invests primarily through the secondaries market closed on $695 million in 2021 below its $750 million target.

Stafford also launched its carbon offset fund, which will offer voluntary carbon credits as part of its return to LPs, in December with a $1 billion target. It reached a $242 million first close this year.
