HarbourVest appoints CTO

Tricia Mackechnie will lead the firm’s global IT team from its Boston headquarters.

HarbourVest Partners has named Tricia Mackechnie chief technology officer and managing director.

Mackechnie will lead the firm’s global IT team and will be responsible for IT infrastructure, application development, quality assurance and cybersecurity functions, according to a statement. She will be based in the firm’s Boston headquarters.

She joins HarbourVest from The Hartford, a US-based investment and insurance company, where she was senior vice-president and chief information officer. Previously she held various senior level technology, operations, consulting and project management positions at ING and Accenture.

HarbourVest is investing its latest dedicated secondaries vehicle, Dover Street IX, which held the final close on $4.8 billion in November. The firm also invests in secondaries through other vehicles including its funds of funds.

Founded in 1982, HarbourVest is a global private markets investment specialist with more than $40 billion in assets under management, according to its website.
