Greenhill Asia MD departs – exclusive

Dominik Woessner's departure comes as the investment bank shuts its Singapore office and centralises operations in Hong Kong.

Greenhill Cogent has lost a secondaries advisory executive and decade-long veteran of the investment bank amid the closure of its Singapore office, Secondaries Investor has learned.

Managing director Dominik Woessner will officially depart at the end of May, a spokesman in the firm’s Hong Kong office confirmed. Woessner was mainly responsible for coverage and execution of secondaries transactions for Asian clients.

“After nearly a decade at Cogent/Greenhill and a highly rewarding career spanning London, Shanghai, and Singapore, I am moving on,” Woessner wrote in a note addressed to colleagues and friends seen by Secondaries Investor.

He noted he will be leaving Singapore and will remain in Asia.

Prior to joining the firm in 2007 when it was Cogent Partners, Woessner worked briefly at secondaries firm Greenpark Capital and began his career at KPMG.

Greenhill said in its fourth quarter earnings announcement that it was centralising its Asian operations in Hong Kong in order to facilitate teamwork and synergies between its primary and secondaries capital advisory businesses.
