Commonfund promotes Lodge to managing director

Cari Lodge joined Commonfund Capital last May to focus on secondaries.

Commonfund Capital, the private equity, venture capital and natural resources division of investment manager Commonfund, has promoted Cari Lodge to managing director, according to a statement.

Lodge joined Commonfund Capital last May to oversee the firm’s growth and management of secondaries.  She was previously a director in Tulane University’s investment management office where she focused on private equity and real assets. Lodge also spent 12 years as a director in Credit Suisse Strategic Partners’ secondary programme, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“Cari has added material value to our efforts in the secondaries market, which have and will continue to be an important area in our investment business,” said Don Pascal, president of Commonfund Capital, in the statement.

Connecticut-based Commonfund Capital manages fund of funds, multi-strategy funds and separate accounts. The group closed its latest natural resources fund of funds, Commonfund Capital Natural Resources Partners IX, on $507 million last September.

Commonfund Capital is targeting $200 million for its latest emerging markets fund of funds and $300 million for its latest US-focused private equity fund of funds. The group is also in market with a non-US fund of funds targeting $300 million.

Commonfund declined to comment on fundraising.
