Fundraising’s quick pace returns

Private equity secondaries have consistently raised the most each year, with a peaks in 2009 and 2013 of $22 billion and $22.9 billion respectively.

The data set shows that 2009 saw the greatest number of fund closures (29), while private real estate raised its greatest amount of capital in 2010.

The first quarter of 2014 has seen 46 funds aiming to raise a collective $36.4 billion for secondaries investment, according to PEI data.
