Access has also promoted two people to partner. Christopher Underwood has been appointed partner, focusing on mezzanine and private debt investments and François Desprez de Fresnoye has become a partner and head of legal. He will support the investment team’s primary, secondary and co-investment activities and oversee all fund structuring legal matters, the statement disclosed.

Paris-based Access is in market with its Access Capital Private Debt Fund II. The fund held a first close on €56 million last week, toward its €150 million target. The fund will make private debt and mezzanine investments in Europe’s mid-market through co-investments, supplemented by primary and secondary fund commitments. The fund is currently finalising its first secondaries transaction.

Access is also fundraising for its sixth flagship fund of funds. Access Capital Fund VI Growth Buy-out Europe held a first close on €190 million in January. About 40 percent of the fund’s capital is allocated to secondaries.
