Verdane picks up five German tech companies from HQ Equita

The Fairview-advised transaction provides liquidity to LPs, continuity for HQ Equita and follow-on capital for each of the companies.

Verdane has acquired a portfolio of five German tech companies from German mid-market investment firm HQ Equita in a Fairview Capital-advised transaction.

The Oslo-headquartered investment firm acquired ownership in Ebertlang, Muegge, R2p-Group, Indevis and The Packaging Group, according to a statement.

“This is a perfect ‘Verdane portfolio deal’ in the sense that we worked closely with multiple stakeholders: HQ Equita, its longstanding LP base, and the management teams of each individual company in the portfolio,” said Emanuel Johnsson, partner at Verdane, in the statement.

The transaction provides liquidity to LPs, continuity for HQ Equita and follow-on capital for each of the companies and their management teams, according to the statement.

HQ Equita will continue to operate independently and will support the five companies in partnership with Verdane.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

This acquisition is Verdane’s 19th investment in the DACH region. In May, the firm opened its second office in Germany in Munich.

Last month, Verdane closed its latest flagship on nearly twice the size of its 2019-vintage predecessor, collecting €1.1 billion for Verdane Capital XI and closing on its hard-cap, Secondaries Investor reported.
