Tullett Prebon real estate secondaries head joins Tradition

The Swiss interdealer-broker has hired two professionals to focus on the asset class, Secondaries Investor has learned.

Two advisory professionals from Tullett Prebon – including its head of real estate secondaries, Michael McKell – have joined Swiss interdealer-broker Tradition, Secondaries Investor has learned.

McKell and Edward Kingston joined the firm on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with the matter. Both will advise on real estate transactions, with McKell, who was named in Secondaries Investor‘s Young Guns of Secondaries Class of 2017, leading the effort.

McKell and Kingston have been with Tullett Prebon for almost seven years and nine years, respectively, according to their Linkedin profiles.

Tradition hired Duff & Phelps’s former secondaries advisory team last September, including London-based Dan Nolan, William Arnold and Maulik Patel, and New York-based John Corley. The group has a particular focus on restructuring private equity funds negatively affected by the coronavirus crisis, Secondaries Investor reported at the time.

McKell and Kingston’s hire brings Tradition’s secondaries advisory headcount to at least nine, it is understood.

Recent personnel moves in the advisory world include Michael Yang and Kilian Toms, who joined Sera Global this year; Spencer Gyory, who will join Goldman Sachs from Lazard; and Sameer Shamsi, who becomes Houlihan Lokey’s secondaries advisory head from Credit Suisse.

A spokesman for Tullett Prebon did not return a request for comment. Tradition declined to comment.
