17Capital adds Wells Fargo, Rothschild veteran to board

The preferred equity specialist has been in market since the first half of last year targeting €1.8bn for its fifth fund.

Preferred equity specialist 17Capital has made an addition to its advisory board.

The London-headquartered firm has appointed Dee Dee Sklar as senior advisor, according to a statement. She was most recently vice-chair of subscription finance at Wells Fargo, where she helped grow the team’s subscription financing offering over seven years.

Sklar: joins as a senior advisor

Prior to that she held senior institutional finance roles with German commercial bank WestLB and Rothschild, among others. During her time at WestLB and Wells Fargo she originated more than $365 billion of financings. She is based in New York.

Sklar’s “extensive network will help enhance 17Capital’s ability to source transactions with private equity investors in North America”, the statement noted.

Sklar joins former Advent International partner Beverly Berman as a senior advisor. Carsten Eckert, co-founder of asset management technology platform INSTICUBE, and Andy Moysiuk, co-founder of alternatives manager Aligninvest Management Corporation, are supervisory board members.

17Capital has been in market since the first half of last year. It is targeting €1.8 billion for its fifth fund, a 50 percent increase on the amount raised for its 2017-vintage predecessor,  Secondaries Investor reported. 17Capital Fund 5 had raised at least €1.2 billion as of October, according to Secondaries Investor data.
